The Peltor 97079 Combat Arms Earplugs are both comfortable and effective. Obviously, the price is right. When I'm out on the range, the Peltor earplugs do a fine job of protecting my hearing. Highly recommended.
With every pull of the trigger the noise cancellation kicked in, maybe not quite as well as normal earplugs, but well enough that it wasn't uncomfortable at all. My friends wearing normal earplugs on the other hand couldn't here well at all, as anyone who has worn earplugs will know.
I'm using these plugs solely for shooting outdoors. I can only speak for the noise activated cancellation end of these plugs, but that is the only end I intended to use.
With the noise activated end in my ear I would say I could hear at about 80%, compared to no plugs at all. For the price, I was extremely skeptical about the efficacy of these plugs.
After a weekend of shooting, however, all my doubts were cast aside. As far as the noise activated aspect goes, they work great.
I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants to be able to shoot and communicate with others simultaneously.
Had to switch immediately over-the-ear hearing protection. These are absolutle rubbish. I tried these at the shooting range and I may as well have not been wearing anything (yes olive side in for indoor use). Do not waste your time, money or risk your hearing on these. The manufacturer should feel very guilty for advertising these as applicable for shooting.
These were a great idea. I can use these in both indoor and outdoor ranges. They are comfortable and work as advertised.The only disadvantage that I've found is that it's quite common to wear both in-ear protectors as well as muff-style protectors, but depending on how shallow or deep your over-the-ear protectors are, these earplugs protrude out quite far and might not fit under them.As a general note, triple-flanged earpieces like this tend to go deeper into your ear than foam earplugs. This can be painful for some people or can cause irritation.
This product works great for me,I was looking for this earplugs to block the annoying noises from the city where I live (Caracas -Venezuela)and this earplugs are excelent for it.
